「ことりの澄みかご」は、抗菌・防カビ・消臭シート「きになるニオイトリ」の廃棄端材と、自然素材の稲藁（いなわら）を掛け合わせて生まれた、人と環境のどちらにもやさしい製品です。
日々の生活空間に潜むカビやニオイに対する悩みや問題に、科学技術と自然の力を融合させ、暮らしの質をやさしく向上させ、心地よい空間を育むことを目指して開発しました。本体は、デザイン性と機能性を両立したシンプルで美しいデザイン。やわらかな照明機能を備えており、抗菌・防カビ・消臭のはたらきに加えて、空間にやわらかな灯りを添えることで、清潔でリラックスできる生活空間を演出します。
この「ことりの澄みかご」は、1m70cm〜2mの高さがあり、1台で約20畳までの空間に対応します。抗菌・防カビ・消臭効果はおよそ60日間持続。かごの中にセットされたアップサイクルシートは、定期的に交換することで効果をキープできます。サステナブルな視点から丁寧に設計されており、環境への配慮を大切にしながら、さりげなく上質な空間づくりを支えます。

"Kotori no Sumikago" is an eco-friendly product born from a combination of natural rice straw and repurposed offcuts of Kininaru Nioitori, a high-performance antibacterial, anti-mold, and deodorizing sheet.
Developed to gently improve the quality of everyday living spaces, this product merges scientific technology with the power of nature to address common issues like hidden mold and unpleasant odors. Its body features a minimalist, elegant design that balances aesthetics and functionality. Equipped with a soft lighting feature, it not only purifies the air through its antibacterial, anti-mold, and deodorizing properties, but also adds a warm, gentle glow—creating a clean and relaxing atmosphere. One unit of Kotori no Sumikago can purify rooms up to approximately 20 tatami mats (about 33 square meters), with effects lasting around 60 days. The upcycled sheet inside the basket can be replaced regularly to maintain optimal performance.

想いから生まれた持続可能なかたち

「きになるニオイトリ」のシートは、紙製で無駄なく使えるよう工夫されたデザインを採用しています。ですが、製造の過程ではどうしても端材（はざい）が発生してしまいます。この端材の活用方法がなく、これまではやむを得ず廃棄していました。
「この端材にもう一度役割を持たせられないだろうか」
そんな想いをずっと持ち続け、試行錯誤を重ねてきました。そんな中 2022年、大阪府の「脱炭素対応新事業展開モデル創出支援事業」に選出されました。この機会を活かし、これまで廃棄していた端材をアップサイクルする新たな取り組みがスタートしました。環境への配慮と、ものづくりへの責任を胸に、私たちは今、人にも地球にもやさしい新製品の開発に取り組んでいます。端材と自然素材を活かした「ことりの澄みかご」は、そんな私たちの想いを形にした製品です。

The Kininaru Nioitori sheet is made of paper and designed with efficiency in mind to minimize waste. However, during the manufacturing process, offcuts inevitably occur. With no practical use for these remnants, they had previously been discarded out of necessity.
"Is there a way to give these offcuts a new purpose?"
This question lingered in our minds, and through continuous trial and error, we searched for answers. In 2022, we were selected for Osaka Prefecture's Decarbonization-Oriented New Business Development Support Program, which opened the door to a new initiative: upcycling what was once discarded. With a strong commitment to environmental responsibility and craftsmanship, we are now developing new products that are kind to both people and the planet.
Kotori no Sumikago, created from upcycled offcuts and natural materials, embodies our vision and values—bringing new life to what was once considered waste.

技術と信頼の裏付け

「きになるニオイトリ」に使われている主成分PCMX（パラクロロメタキシレノール）は、1920年代後半にヨーロッパで開発され、世界中で100年近く使われてきた実績がある抗菌・防カビ成分です。太洋株式会社は、このPCMXを紙素材に高濃度で含侵させ、徐々に気化させるという独自技術の確立に5年かけて成功しました。吊るす、または置くだけで、成分が空間に広がり、カビや雑菌の繁殖を抑えます。香りでごまかすのではなく、原因菌に直接働きかけることで、カビや嫌なニオイの発生を根本から防ぐことができます。

The main active ingredient used in Kininaru Nioitori, PCMX (para-chloro-meta-xylenol), was developed in Europe in the late 1920s and has been trusted for nearly a century as an effective antibacterial and anti-mold agent worldwide.
Taiyo Co., Ltd. spent five years developing a proprietary technology to infuse this compound at a high concentration into paper material, allowing it to gradually vaporize over time.
Simply hanging or placing the sheet enables the active ingredient to disperse throughout the space, suppressing the growth of mold and bacteria.
Rather than masking odors with fragrance, it targets the root causes—working directly against the source microbes to fundamentally prevent mold and unpleasant smells from forming.

照明・スタンドのパーツについて

籠部分は、稲刈りの際に稲穂から稲を取り残った藁を編んで作った物で、蛍を入れて観賞したり飼育したりする籠として使用されていました。私たちはその籠の内部にLEDの照明を接着し、藁と藁の間から溢れる光が優しく包んでくれるような照明を制作しました。ベッドサイドの照明としておすすめです。

A firefly cage is an insect cage made by weaving straw that is le ft over after the rice has been removed from the ears of rice during the rice harvest. It was used as a cage to keep fireflies and to watch or raise them. We attached an LED light to the inside of the cage and created a light that gently envelops you with the light that overflows from between the straw. We recommend it as a bedside light.

籠を吊り下げる木材は藤（とう／ラタン）。咲いた花びらをイメージし、1 本ずつ手作業で曲げています。籐はしなやかで丈夫な素材で、吸水性があり、湿気に強く置く場所を選びません。手作業で作られるため、使うほどに体になじみ「味わい」が出てきます。ストールや帽子など照明の用途以外にもいろんな利用ができます。

The wood used to hang the basket is rattan. Each piece is bent by hand to resemble a blooming petal. Rattan is a flexible yet durable material that is absorbent and resistant to moisture, so it can be placed anywhere. Because it is made by hand, it becomes more comfortable to wear and develops a unique character the more you use it. It can also be used for a variety of purposes other tha n lighting, such as a scarf or hat.

照明の柱とウエィトは取り外し可能。テーブルや、スツールとしても利用できます。籐は湿気が多い季節にはそれを吸収し、乾燥した季節に放出する特性があり、家庭の快適な環境作りをお手伝いをします。また熱帯地域に自生する植物であり、成長が早いため環境負荷が小さく、再生可能な資源としての特性を持っています。

The lighting pole and weight are removable. It can also be used as a table or stool. Rattan has the ability to absorb humidity in humid seasons and release it in dry seasons, helping to create a comfortable home environment. It i s also a plant that grows naturally in tropical regions, and because it grows quick ly, it has a small environmental impact and is a renewable resource.
